Line Manager: Head of Service and Safer Schools

Salary: £20,000 – £25,000 Pro Rata (Depending on experience)

Full Time Hours: 16-24 hours per week – (It is an occupational requirement that the successful candidate must be available to work on Monday and Tuesday to meet business needs).

Due to growth within our business, we are now seeking to hire a Digital Content Officer on a fixed term or permanent contract to support our existing team (the role is available for a suitable candidate on a part-time basis).

Embedded into our Training and Content Team you will be responsible for the creation of contemporary, credible and relevant written safeguarding content. We believe content and context is key to what we do, and you will have responsibility for delivering the company style and tone to age-appropriate audiences. This includes children, young people, parents, carers, teachers and safeguarding professionals.

From engaging digital articles, blogs, app content and press releases to social media and marketing copy. You will help us shape and further develop our social media and marketing strategies while understanding the impact and success in engaging new and existing customers.

Responsibilities will include:

  • Writing contemporary and relevant online safety / safeguarding articles and age-appropriate content for our apps.
  • Creation and editing of scripts, multimedia presentations and podcasts.
  • Exercising strong editorial judgement, often while under pressure.
  • Creation and editing of engaging copy for email and marketing campaigns.
  • Support, refine and further develop our social media and marketing strategy.
  • Preparing, inputting and updating a content calendar.
  • Create and implement digital campaigns, engaging content and co-ordinating day to day activities across multiple digital platforms and apps.
  • Working collaboratively across multiple teams to support the mission of the company.
  • Contribute content to the ongoing development and maintenance of the company’s websites.
  • Compliance with all relevant legislation and policies relating to data protection and confidentiality of information.
  • The effective prioritisation and organisation of work.
  • Maintenance of digital filing systems and performance of all general administrative tasks as appropriate.
  • Carry out any other duties required by the Head of Service and Content / or the Directors.

Essential Criteria Requirements:

  • Must be available to fulfil all hours on a Monday and Tuesday each week.
  • You care about making people safer.
  • Excellent writing skills, with a keen eye for detail and an understanding of digital media.
  • Be able to work and thrive under pressure.
  • Self-motivated, team player with a can-do attitude.
  • Ability to adapt quickly to changing priorities, timescales and deadlines.
  • A high attention to detail.
  • Strong computer skills (The company primarily uses Mac hardware and the Microsoft 365 suite).

Desirable Requirements

  • A proven track record in original writing
  • Safeguarding experience in a paid or voluntary capacity e.g. in a charity, education or youthwork environment.
  • Third level qualification in any discipline and or a minimum of 3 years relevant experience in a relevant field. e.g. journalism, education, safeguarding

Hours of Work

8 hours per day (a working day is 9.00am-5.00pm or other mutual arrangement – there will also be, on occasion, some additional hours including post 5pm and weekend duties to be agreed as required).
