With ambitious targets for our business, we are now seeking to hire an Education and Content Co-ordinator.

This is a great opportunity for those with a safeguarding, educational or teaching background (including newly qualified applicants) to develop their experience in this contemporary and specialist safeguarding area.

Embedded in our Content and Creative Visual Design team, you will be responsible for creating and shaping our education content and safeguarding training products to ensure these are tailored to meet the needs of professionals, teachers, parents, carers, and young people.

You will be engaged in tasks ranging from creating new resources for our safeguarding apps, online educational hubs, and courses to aiding us in the development of new safeguarding and online safety products.

Your responsibilities will also include reviewing and updating existing content, such as classroom-based resources and lesson plans, articles, and video scripts.

You will need to be a self-motivated team player with stacks of enthusiasm and a genuine passion for what we do; help make people safer. You will be required to take the lead of projects of work and complete tasks to a high standard, delivering on strict timescales while ensuring creative content is age appropriate, contemporary, credible, and relevant.

Key Tasks & Responsibilities

Your main duties will include (but are not limited to):

  • Researching, writing, reviewing, and updating relevant educational content for Safer Schools, and our new safeguarding products.
  • Co-ordinate the development of new content with safeguarding advisors, including scheduling reviews, incorporating feedback, and ensuring timely delivery.
  • Communicate with internal teams on the dissemination of content to multiple outputs including our websites and native apps.
  • Quality assure content, dependant on experience.
  • Support the Service Engagement team by providing regular updates on completed content.
  • Leading, creating and delivering on key project objectives and tasks.
  • Dependent upon experience, advising on best practice teaching resources.
  • Preparing, inputting, and updating a content calendar.
  • Working pro-actively to collaborate across multiple internal teams and external advisors in the creation of content.
  • Delivering presentations and /or product demonstrations / webinars to targeted audiences, both online and face-to-face.
  • Ability to adapt quickly to changing priorities, timescales, and deadlines.
  • The effective prioritisation and organisation of work.
  • Maintenance of digital filing systems and performance of all general administrative tasks as appropriate.
  • Any other duties assigned by the Directors and the Head of Content and Creative Visual Design, which may evolve with the needs of the organisation.

Essential Criteria

  • A demonstrated ability to work effectively as part of a team and collaborate with other departments.
  • A genuine commitment to child safety and a passion for creating educational resources that promote online safety.
  • Experience writing and creating engaging age-appropriate educational material and resources.
  • Ability to manage projects, meet deadlines, and prioritise tasks effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Familiarity with different digital media formats and their application in educational contexts.
  • A high attention to detail.
  • Excellent computer skills (The company primarily uses Mac hardware and the Microsoft 365 suite).

Desirable Requirements

  • A degree in Education, Child Development, Safeguarding, or a related field is essential.
  • Experience working with children or young people and / or safeguarding experience in a paid or voluntary capacity e.g., in a charity, education or youth work environment.
  • Experience of writing content to a publishable standard.
  • A good understanding of online platforms including gaming and social media platforms.
  • A contemporary understanding of safeguarding in the context of the digital world.

Place of work

This is an office-based role at INEQE Safeguarding Group, Ocean House, 13 Edgewater Road Belfast, BT3 9JQ.

Hours of work

Normal working for full time staff is 8 hours per day (a working day is 9.00am-5.00pm or other mutual arrangement – there will also be, on occasion, some additional hours including post 5pm and weekend duties as required).
