Online Safety for Parents and Carers
Overview
This session is designed to help parents and carers recognise the most popular social media platforms and provides an overview of how they are used by children and young people today. Through ‘real world’ explanations and examples, attendees will explore the most common features and functions of the popular apps and platforms that children and young people use.
Parents and carers will learn about the potential risks that being online may pose and will be equipped with strategies to keep their young person safer online. The course will help them increase their knowledge of safety settings, parental controls, online risks, and the operational support available to them.
