This Ineqe Group Masterclass is limited to small groups. It begins with a briefing on contemporary issues including child sexual exploitation, emerging threats and how offenders use the internet.
During the interactive workshop delegates use our acclaimed Safer Social Networking Activity Packs (SSNAP), which have been updated to take account of contemporary use of social media. The SSNAP cards facilitate experiential learning, enabling participants to identify and respond to a range of risks associated with young people’s use of technology.
A) An understanding of safeguarding in the context of young people’s lives and their use of social media.
B) An enhanced awareness of offender behaviour, tactics and use of new technology.
C) The ability to formulate prevention and intervention strategies.
D) The ability to use the SSNAP training resource to cascade training.

The cards represent different components and activities within a social media platform.
The scenarios described in the pack have been designed for both the novice and the experienced social media user.
Each card has been developed to reflect real case studies & provide a credible insight into the contemporary use of such platforms by children and young people.
The cards reinforce the importance of understanding privacy, applying the right safety settings and identifying when users may be vulnerable to grooming, CSE, subject to bullying or involved in high risk behaviours.
The Safety cards ensure participants know where, when and to whom to go to for help.
